Online writing is a vocation that not a lot of people think about. Many don't realize that there is the potential to make a lot of money from doing this as a career. Online writing is a new job that has emerged in the last five-ten years, as a product of the internet. The internet, of course, makes this and other online jobs a valid career choice for this generation. There are many benefits to doing online writing. Not only is the potential income a great benefit, but you can do the job from anywhere that you have an internet connection. Travel the world while you are working! In this article we will discuss the basics of how to write an article, tips for choosing topics, and how to get started in online writing.
How to Write an Article
.jpg)
If you can put together a basic article like you did in English class, then you can do online writing. To refresh your memory, here is an easy way to construct a paragraph. The "Hamburger Paragraph" is a simple model which I was taught in school. There are other ways of creating articles, but this is a good simple one that anyone can follow. The concept follows the idea of 5 sentences, but you can alter it of course.
The first paragraph is the introduction (the top bun). In this sentence you will state your topic belief, the objective or purpose. The next three sentences are used to prove your statement. These are the insides of the hamburger: i.e. the cheese, lettuce and
hamburger patty. The final sentence, number five, is used to conclude your paragraph. This is the bottom bun of your hamburger. In this sentence you will restate your main statement and any claims which you have backed up by the three previous sentences. You are finished! See how easy that was? Here is an example:
Cats are a nuisance and not suitable pets for families with young children. They often have trouble using their kitty litter box and will miss their target, getting it all over the floor causing a big mess to clean up if the kids don't get into it first. Cats make loud 'meowing' noises which can keep napping children up as well as get on anyone's nerves. Cats have a mean streak about them and have been known to strike out and scratch an innocent child or even bite them. If you have ever owned a cat, you will indeed agree that they are a nuisance and not a suitable pet for families with young children.
Using this model, you can grow your paragraph to a larger one by increasing data and proof to back up the statement. You can also prove a number of statements. Turn it into an article by having the first paragraph state your position. The next three or more paragraphs can be used to prove your claim(s). And finally, the last paragraph will restate your claims and conclude with a small summary of the results described in the previous paragraphs.
Choosing Article Topics
There are a variety of topics that you can choose to write about. When choosing topics, it is preferable to go with those that are familiar to you, if you have a choice. Make sure that you can write intelligently about the subject. This may involve doing a little research first, before you begin. Or, maybe you have something important to say or some interesting tips to share with others. Choosing good subject matter and writing it well will help you excel in online writing.

When looking for dissertation examples, you must think closely about the topic that you are choosing. You will write a better thesis if you are familiar with the topic and have a strong opinion about it. If you can honestly take a stand at a particular viewpoint you will do better in the final thesis defense (viva voce). If you find the topic interesting, it will help motivate you to study the subject matter and write about it from your own viewpoint. You must be prepared to spend a lot of time researching and proving your dissertation statement. You will need to know all the ins and outs of the topic in order to answer questions in your dissertation defense.
Here we will discuss a variety of subjects that would make good dissertation examples to choose from. First you will need to decide on a general topic area of interest. It is a good idea to choose a subject matter that is relevant to your course of study and degrees, whether you be in the math and sciences area or the arts and humanities area. Here are some examples:
Geology, entomology, biology, archeology, mathematics, sociology, IT, technology, communications, eco-tourism, fine art, music, theatre, literature, languages, writing, law, history, commerce, economics, etc.
Once you decide on a main topic area, you will then need to narrow it down to get your final thesis idea. You will need to dig deeper into the area you are interested in to find an actual thesis topic. Brainstorming with someone else will help you think of ideas as well. It is important to narrow your topic down so that it is not too broad an area or you will appear unfocused. Here are some questions to ask yourself when trying to think of dissertation examples.
- how familiar am I with the subject matter?
- do I have a strong viewpoint on the subject?
- is it something I can prove or disprove in my thesis?
- is there material available for referencing?
- can I dig up research material to support my thesis?
- is it a unique viewpoint? Has it been done before?
Perhaps there is something in your course of study that has always nagged at you. Something that you wished you could have delved into a little deeper. Or, maybe it's something that not a lot has been published on that you know people would be interested in hearing. You may have been taught to think a certain way about a particular situation in history, for example, but maybe you know of facts that point the thought in a different direction.
Carefully consider the points discussed above and they should be of help to you when looking for dissertation examples or thinking up thesis topics to do for your graduate work.
Being a babysitter is a big responsibility for anyone, whether you are a teen or an adult. Making it a fun experience for both you and the children is another story. You might be going into a babysitting job thinking you'll have an easy time of it, get to watch movies, play on your iPhone, and chat on the phone with your friends. Sure, you may get a job like that if the kids are put to bed right away, but if they are up and awake you will need some ideas to keep them entertained. No question about it, you are the entertainment!
Here are a few ideas and tips for babysitter games and other activities that will help you keep the kids entertained. Who knows, they may like the experience so much that they'll request you back!
Crafting
Plan a crafting activity that can be done with the children you are babysitting. You will need to choose something that is able to be done by each of the children's age groups, but it is often easy to modify a project for younger children by helping them out or making it simpler. It is fun for them to make a craft item that they can give away to someone else, such as their mother for Mother's Day, or something for Father's Day, or perhaps a Grandparent is having a birthday.
One idea for babysitting crafts is to make tissue paper flower bouquets. At your local dollar store, get different colored tissue paper and some children's scissors and craft glue. Making tissue paper flowers is as easy as cutting long strips of tissue paper, rolling it up and gluing it every now and then. At the end, glue it and begin to peel back the layers to make them appear like petals. Instructions for making these and other types of tissue paper flowers can be found online.
Birthday cards are another fun thing to do with kids. Bring over a few scrapbooking supplies and help the kids make a birthday card for Dad.
Board Games
Most families have a selection of board games in a cupboard somewhere. Ask the parents, before they leave for the evening, where they are kept. Kids are always asking adults to play games with them and this is a good opportunity for them to get the games out of their systems, plus it will keep them entertained. Explain the game rules to the children and play along with them.
Card Games
Card games like Uno, Memory, or Go Fish are easy for kids to pick up. Some of these are good for educational purposes as well. If the family does not have any card games, then bring some of your own along. Bringing a selection of things such as babysitter games with you that the kids do not see that often will make them more interested in playing along.
Movies
The family that you are babysitting for will most likely have a selection of cartoons and movies on DVD that you can show the children, however it is more fun for them if you bring something from your own collection. Make sure the parents are ok with you showing it to them first!
Internet
There are many kid-friendly websites that have online games for children. Both educational and recreational games can be found. Again, make sure the parents are ok with you allowing the kids online, supervised, while they are gone. They may have rules about t.v. and computer that mean the kids have limited watching time per week.
Educational Babysitter Games
Using your babysitting time to teach educational games and activities with the kids is something that the parents will really appreciate. Doing homework isn't necessarily fun, but with the right attitude, kids will go along with it. There are also a lot of educational games available on the market which will help in this manner, but you can also make up your own.
Here is one idea:
Using index cards, print a letter on each card. Hand out each child a set number of cards as well as yourself. Play the game similar to Uno, where one card is placed upright next to the deck of leftover cards, face down. Going around the circle, in order, have each child play a card of a letter that they can 1. say the letter name, 2. say the letter sound, and 3. say a word that begins with that letter. (Depending on the age of the child, you may want to have them just do #1 or #2 instead.) If they get it right, they can 'play' the card. This is a fun game that I do with my 5 year old and he loves it!
Reading
All kids like to be read to, especially before bed. One of the best ways of entertaining children and introducing them to the wonders of the written word is to pick a good story book and read it to them. We're not talking a board book or small children's book that a child can read themselves, we are talking a big long work of fiction. One that is a book that you bring and read to them a chapter or two each time you babysit, providing it is a regular job. It will keep them asking for more! Check with the parents first, but here are a few ideas of books to get started: Charlotte's Web, Treasure Island, Little House on the Prairie,Chronicles of Narnia, etc.
Game Jar
Prior to the babysitting job, cut a bunch of strips of paper out. Write an activity on each strip of paper, fold it up and put it in the jar. When you are at the house, this is a great babysitting game to play with the kids. Allow each child to pick out one piece of folded paper. Then all of you will play the game or activity that is on the paper. After playing the game, then let the next child pick out a paper and then everyone play that game as well. Let them each have a turn. Make sure the activities are doable or it won't make sense to the kids if you have to say no to it.
Coloring/Drawing
Bring coloring books and crayons with you when you go babysitting. Make these special books that you bring on the job and take home when you leave. This will help make them special to the kids. If they see them everyday, they will be less interested in playing with them, but if you take them away when you leave they will want to see them again.
Babysitter games are easy to come up with. If you are looking for more ideas, take a look online and see what else you can come up with. Check in your games closet at home and bring some of your own board games over. Or, best of all, put yourself in the kids' shoes. Think like a child and decide what you would have wanted to do if you were that age. You most likely end up with a lot of babysitter games that you can use for future babysitting jobs.
Making the decision to homeschool your children, should not be taken lightly. I know, because I am the parent of a homeschooled child. We made the decision to homeschool our children for a variety of reasons. Here I will delve into some of these reasons. Perhaps this will help you in any decision you may have about homeschooling your own child.
Safety
Where we live, there is a concern over the safety of children in our local schools. We are often hearing of school lock downs in the news for a variety of reasons. Crimes such as stabbings, drugs being found in school lockers and bullying are just a few of the reasons why we do not feel comfortable sending our young child out into a school environment where he cannot be protected. The student to teacher ratio is just not conducive to keeping all the children safe, either while in school or in the playground. Not only that, but this ratio makes it more difficult for learning in a classroom environment, which we will discuss in our next point.
Accelerated Learning
As stated in the previous paragraph, it is difficult for a child to learn and be educated when they are one of approximately 30 students in a classroom assigned to 1 teacher. It is particularly challenging for the teacher to give one-on-one attention to each student, assess their needs, and provide them with the tools necessary for each one to excel. Students who are gifted are not challenged and waiting around for the other students to catch up. Students who are slow, are not getting the attention they require to catch up to the other students.
Providing a homeschool environment for the student allows the child to learn at their own pace. It does not force them to go on to the next section if they have not fully understood the previous one. One-on-one attention by a parent/teacher allows the student to ask all the questions he or she feels are necessary in order to understand and learn. In addition, the waiting time of a teacher working with 29 other students is not there and so the homeschooled student has the opportunity to excel at a more accelerated pace. You will often find homeschooled students are further ahead in their learning than their regular schooled peers.
Learning Environment
The learning environment of a homeschool is such that the child feels safe and free to learn at their own pace. The location being flexible is also a great benefit. If it's a nice sunny and warm day, the parent can move learning time to out in the back yard. Or, if the family is on a camping trip, school goes along with them. Being a homeschooled family allows you to be flexible in the location of study and as such frees up the family to travel and spend time away from their home. All while learning. You will often find homeschooled children in families that are on the road on an extended vacation. These children will most likely have education surrounding their current locale included in their schooling. Breaking up the monotony makes things more interesting. If a child is interested, they will learn and remember.
Course of Study Control
Having control over the course of study of my homeschooled child is very important. We are free to choose the cirriculum that we wish to use. We can mix and match different areas and customize it to our child's specific needs. Having the ability to teach our families' values to our children, and not someone else's, is important to us as well.
More Family Time
Homeschooling allows us to have more family time together. Our children are always with us and we take them pretty much everywhere. They have the benefit of knowing that they are in a secure and safe place. Spending time together as a family gives a security to children. One that they will value and learn from as they grow older and go out into the work force.
I could probably go into other reasons why we homeschool our children, but for now I thought I'd give you a little insight into my perspective as a mother who homeschools. If you are thinking of homeschooling your children, maybe some of the reasons I've discussed above will help you make your decision.
When we hear talk about simplifying our lives, there is more to it than just simply removing tangible clutter. There is an emotional aspect to this way of living as well. There is nothing like simplifying your life and getting back to the basics. Doing so will free up your time and help contribute to a stress-free lifestyle. Here are 5 things you can begin working on right now that will help you simplify your life.
1. Declutter
Go through your possessions and be judicious about what you keep. Tackle one room at a time. Make three piles: Keep, Throw Out and Donate. Do you really need two t.v.'s? What about all those old cell phones you still have hanging about? Before we moved (to a houseboat), we had wedding gifts from 15 years ago that were sitting in boxes in our attic. We got rid of the things we did not use and have not thought about it since. A lot of the things we accumulate we don't even use anymore.
It is time to get rid of the clutter. If you spend the time to do this, you will feel like a weight has been lifted off. Decluttering your life goes a long way to contributing to decluttering your brain too.
2. Alternative Housing
Think about where you currently live. Are you living in an expensive home or condo in the middle of a city? Do you really need to live there? The cost of living is always more expensive in the city than in the country, or even a small town. Consider moving or downsizing at least. More and more people are buying smaller houses and smaller condos. In fact the demand for smaller spaces has encouraged many contractors to provide compact apartment options for sale.
There are alternatives to living in traditional housing as well. Perhaps some places that you had not considered for yourself before. Living in a trailer or camper has the benefit of mobility as well as cheaper accomodation. Living on a boat is another growing trend among families. We have been doing so for the past 5 years. Modern houseboats have all the conveniences you would expect from living in a home. It is substantially cheaper to be a liveaboard than a ground-dweller.
Most of us feel tied down to our place of residence because of our jobs. The next tip will help you see that a new job may be in the cards for you.
3. A New Job
We as humans will naturally strive towards getting a higher paying job. One thing we tend to forget about is that with a higher pay comes more responsibility. More responsibility = stress and it also means that more of your time has been loaned out to someone else. If possible, take a renewed look at your job and decide if it is worth it. Is it worth the stress this puts on you? Is it worth spending all that time away from your family and friends? What about the effect it is having on your health? Spend the time on you instead. If you have found cheaper accommodation, then you can afford to take a lower paying job. Perhaps your employer will allow you to telecommute for your job. It's worth asking? If you can avoid the commute to work, then you'll be on your way to living simpler.
Invest some time in your future. Take a little time to start your own business. Writing articles for Word Wolf is a great way to get started on making an income that will lead to a simpler life. One of the best aspects of this idea is that you can do it from anywhere, from your own home, at the beach, etc. You have the freedom to work from anywhere. You can therefore afford to lead a simpler life and move to a smaller town or a place in the country away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
4. Plant a Garden
Urban gardens are becoming a very popular trend. A lot of this is due to the popularity of living an eco-friendly lifestyle. At the same time, having a garden can save you money and make grocery shopping much simpler. Do you eat a lot of salads and vegetables? Think of the fresh tomatoes and lettuce you can pick daily for a fresh salad for your lunch. You can be sure they are pesticide free!
If you live in a city, there should be nothing stopping you from having a garden also. Pot gardening and container gardening can be done pretty much anywhere. If you live in an apartment building or condo, you can put them out on your balcony or ask the superintendent for some rooftop space. There are many houseboats with container gardens on their roofs as well. There are also plots available in many inner city areas for people to plant a community garden. You will get much satisfaction in planting a garden and seeing the 'fruits' of your labor. If you end up with too much of a harvest, don't waste it. Can it and use it!
5. Learn to Say No
A lot of us tend to say yes way to often and end up over committing ourselves to things that we wish we weren't doing. It is hard to say no to family and friends, but if you can work up the courage to do it a few times, they will stop asking. Don't feel guilty about it. Pick and choose to do only the important things and back away from everything else. Living a simpler life does not mean filling up all your extra time. Learn to sit back and enjoy the quiet.
Most families I know have a crazy busy schedule. They are over committing themselves to functions and activities that when it boils down to it are not really necessary. Do you drive your kids all over the place to way too many activities? Sure, it is great to get kids involved in extra-curricular activities, but there comes a time when too much is too much. Kids don't need to be in everything. Pick a couple of activities, not half a dozen. Thirty years ago we didn't have all the opportunities we do now and we all turned out fine (so we think!). The point is, I think that many parents are worried their kids are going to miss out on an opportunity and are trying to keep up with the Jones'. Pick a couple of activities that your kids are truly interested in and do those. Not all of them.
Now is the time to do something to simplify your life. It is time to free up time for yourself. Stop wasting your life away working for someone else. Spend your time building up a business for yourself and at the same time, do what you want to do. Living a simple life will go a long way to making you more fulfilled and a happier and healthier person. Listen. Do you hear that? That is the solitude and quiet life that you have created for yourself!
There are other reasons why a person would want to file for divorce. The first grounds for divorce, at the top of the list, is money issues. Let's face it. When the purse strings get tight people are quick to point the finger at each other. This leads to many people deciding that it is time they take their marriage in a different direction and end it once and for all. Money may make the world go round but it is also the leading cause for a person to decide that they don't want to be married anymore.
Another reason that two people will file for divorce is that one or both partners cheat on the other. Temptation is a leading cause for a person to decide that they want to stray out of the marriage and have an affair. When the other partner finds this transgression out, they will decide to file for divorce. Many couples do give their marriage one good try by going to a marriage counselor first and trying to work through the marital problems. But cheating is often a no going back issue and definitely grounds for divorce.
Another reason for a person filing for divorce is because of issues in the bedroom. It's no secret that a marriage is an act between two people that sometimes will lose the spark and will cause two people to lose interest in one another. This most times is simply a result of two people just not being able to find the time and effort into getting the spark back and keeping their marriage interesting and full of surprises.
When a person decides it is time to change their career path this will more times lead to a breakdown in a marriage. The reason for this is either the other person will be jealous that the other is now making more money then they are or will be a result of the partner regretting the fact that there has been a drop in the amount of money that is coming into the home now. Some will consider this as grounds for divorce.
These are just a sampling of the many reasons why a person would consider filing for a divorce. Divorce is a decision that either two people will come to an agreement on or a single person will decide that it is time to re-look at their life and file a divorce whether they have true grounds for divorce or not.
So how do you get out of this marriage without having to hire an expensive attorney to end the divorce? You are going through enough emotionally in having to process the very thought of getting a divorce. You need to make the process as easy and painless as possible.
There is a very simple option for ending a divorce and that is using a divorce form. Yes, in a nutshell this is a do it yourself version for divorce at home. Using a divorce form is a more affordable option if the divorce is a plain and simple one that does not involve kids or the request for alimony. This is an important consideration to take into mind when deciding if a lawyer less divorce is your best option.
Lawyer fees are quite steep and just to get your case heard in a basic bare bones divorce will cost an arm and a leg to get done. A divorce form option allows for you to download all of the forms that are required in order to make your divorce official. Many websites will have the forms all ready and all you have to do is download them and fill in the blanks.
After you have downloaded the divorce form and filled it out, there is simply a matter of taking the paperwork in to a notary and having them notarized and made official. In most cases you will never even have to be in front of a judge, as you will be able to have a representative of the court appear on your behalf and present the filled out forms.
This process makes the whole divorce thing a lot easier to handle as it affords a person the freedom to get a divorce , not miss any work and not have their daily life interrupted with the hassle of appearing in court.
As long as the divorce is uncontested, then using a divorce form is a wise choice in proceeding with a divorce and getting on with your life. The toll that the divorce takes on you is bad enough. The last thing that you need is for the process to drag out in court.
Now you are probably still thinking to yourself why would I not contest the divorce? Simply put, it is the best way to get a divorce over with and not have it drag on for months at a time. If you are not interested in trying to salvage the remains of your marriage then you will just be better off to end the marriage and let the divorce proceed without a fight.
There are actually benefits to letting the divorce proceed uncontested. The first of these is that it will of course save you time in the long run. The next of these is it will probably save you some money with your divorce lawyer as you will not have to file as much paperwork and your lawyer will be able to just zip right through the process.
If the divorce goes in the other person's favor then, you have a good chance of it not costing you very much money, in the short term at least (unless you are found to pay a lot of alimony). This is especially true if the marriage is not that old as a judge will see it as two people who rushed into a decision and made a mistake with getting married.
Another reason that you will want to consider an uncontested divorce is if there are children involved. This is going to be a hard time on them and you will want to make this as easy as possible on them as you can. If the two parties involved work together then it will be an easier process for the kids to go through.
The biggest problem will be the settling of property among the two of you. You will either have to sit down with your spouse and decide who gets what or go through a mediator or your lawyer. This is the only real area where things might get a little testy as this will not be an easy thing to do and it could go back and forth for a bit, making your hopes for a quick divorce more unlikely.
Regardless of who is the one that begins the divorce proceedings, an uncontested divorce is your best bet on getting a divorce quickly. The last thing that you will want is for your divorce to drag on for months and all of your secrets from the marriage to be put on public display for all the world to see and hear.
The first rule of thumb is to make your divorce settlement request as reasonable as possible. If you and your husband just were not compatible, then you need not try and take them to the cleaners for alimony. More times than not a judge will be able to tell who is asking for money because they need it and those that are just asking for it to be greedy. These are the ones that tend to lose in the decision and will end up getting next to nothing for their trouble during the proceedings.
While you need to be realistic for your divorce settlement request, you also need to look at the offense and, if warranted, ask the judge for a reasonable amount of alimony to help you through any small financial crisis that you are currently experiencing.
When a judge makes his ruling on your divorce settlement, he or she will consider several factors in their decision. The first of these is the length of the marriage. More times than not if the marriage lasted a year or less then the woman will not get awarded much, if anything, on the grounds that the woman can still support herself like she did before the marriage. If on the other hand the marriage lasted several years, or if children are involved, then the woman has a good chance at getting awarded alimony.
The reason or grounds for the divorce will play a vital role in what, if anything, a person will get in the final ruling. If the marriage simply just did not work out then there will probably not be anything awarded. If one person cheated, then you can expect an settlement that includes alimony.
A judge will look at the amount of income that the wife is currently making to determine if there is a need for added income towards the wife every month. The income versus debt will be heavily considered when making the decision as to what will be in the divorce settlement.
Now that you have read a basic overview as to what all is involved in a divorce settlement, you will have a better idea as to what you can honestly expect during your divorce settlement. Just remember to make your request reasonable and do not be tempted to use the divorce settlement as a way to get back at your ex for what went on during the marriage.
The first thing that you need to know when looking for a divorce lawyer is the amount of experience that your lawyer has with divorces. Having an experienced lawyer in your corner can prove to be a valuable tool as you will need a lawyer that is used to the way that judges tend to sway in a divorce case. This knowledge will prove to be valuable in dealing with a divorce judge. In addition you will need a lawyer that is knowledgeable and trained to handle divorces and be a true advocate on your behalf. A cheap divorce lawyer may not always be the way to go. You don't want your lawyer cutting corners.
Another thing that you will want to consider as guidance in researching the quality of the divorce lawyer is to do a little research on their previous clients. Ask for references. Are there any clients that you are able to talk to to find out if the lawyer in question is reputable or not. These references will make all the difference in deciding as to whether or not you will want to use them or if you will just move on to another lawyer that has a better track record.
Is the lawyer easily accessible and if not available does he return your calls on a timely basis? When going through a divorce you need to be able to contact your lawyer at a short moment's notice if things in your situation change or as new developments occur. You need to feel in the loop and also be able to convey information to your lawyer in a timely fashion.
Let's talk about fees. When talking about lawyers, fees are always a major issue, no matter what the case. You will need to carefully consider your divorce lawyer when discussing fees. Fees will vary from lawyer to lawyer and will be quite dependent upon the amount of work that will need to be done on your particular divorce case. You will need to sit down and have a talk with your potential lawyer in an effort to make sure that you are in complete understanding as to the fees that will be involved and what these fees will be for when dealing with your divorce. Cheap divorce lawyers are not recommended. Be sure before signing a contract that you are confident with the fees your lawyer will be charging and that you won't be 'ripped off.' As well, be sure that your lawyer won't be cutting corners in being your advocate. You want the best person for the job to act on your behalf and in your best interest.
The last thing that you will need to do in finding a lawyer is to make sure that you find one that you are comfortable with in dealing with your business. This is going to be a troubling time for you. The last thing that you are going to need is a lawyer that you will not be comfortable with in discussing your particular divorce details. Choose wisely and do your research.
