Think Twice Before Using Plastic Coffee Cups

Ah, the wonder of plastic coffee cups. It’s light, you can find it anywhere, it accommodates your need and desires for a heavenly coffee break after a tiring and stressful day. But most often, you don’t seem to notice its existence right? Although most plastic coffee cups seem like any ordinary product bystander waiting for you to pick it up, there are some studies suggesting and implicating it in the occurrence of certain types of diseases. There are no direct diseases which can result to a seemingly dependence on using plastic coffee cups but some studies say that the effects can brought forth a trigger in certain illnesses and predisposition to these illnesses.

Bisphenol A or simply BPA is the culprit that’s making plastic coffee cups dangerous to one’s health. The high temperature of hot coffee causes the harmful compound to leach into the content of the plastic cup. So, what does BPA do? Studies say that BPA mimics the natural hormones in the body. In doing so, it has a probable detrimental effect in the nervous and reproductive functions and mechanisms of the body.

The hazards associated with the use of plastic coffee cups might scare you to death. Rather than always bringing with you your heavy personalized coffee mugs, you can always ask for the availability of corn plastic coffee cups. Yes, you heard it right. With almost everything in the world threatened by the ill effects of global warming and other environmental and health issues, many people would like to go green, shift to more earth friendly alternatives and patronize products which are healthy and natural based. Thanks to the creative minds of product developers and the ever forward minds of businessmen, we now have a corn derived plastic coffee cup. Made from hytrel food grade rubber, it is totally 100% biodegradable. It may seem plastic, it maybe called plastic but worry no more for luckily, it’s not plastic. It’s corn

The lesson learned from all these things? Be analytical and sometimes, question the existence of things. For all we know, the seemingly innocent plastic coffee cup is a contributor to why you are feeling more stressed. This claim is not confirmed though but being very careful has its perks. Moreover, the unabated and uncontrolled use and disposal of these plastic coffee cups contribute heavily to polluting the resources. If you have other options, minimize if not totally refrain from using these cups.
