It may not always be hard candy or something that you can chew on. It can be in the form of some jam or butter. Like peanut butter for example, people like it because of its sweetness. Some even lick their spoons after spreading a whole glob of peanut butter on a slice of bread. Maple syrup is no exception from the favorites. Maple butter is made the same was as maple syrup is made. Maple sap is boiled until it is a thick and spreadable substance similar to butter. That’s why it was called maple butter in the first place. It is something that kids would love on their pancakes. You can have it as substitutes for your jams as well. It is best eaten with bread products like biscuits, pancakes, waffles and just about anywhere you would like to spread some maple loving on. There is some cream added to the mixture to lessen the sweetness and make it have a richer taste. If you don’t boil the syrup enough, the mixture does not turn into butter but into some sort of candy coating that you could use. If you stir the mixture too much while boiling, the syrup will crystallize and become sugar instead. There are a lot of people who enjoy this spreadable mixture. In fact, they enjoy it so much that they make their own and send it as gifts for their friends. And they surely get big hugs and hearty reviews.
