Fallacy or Fact: Fasting Weight Loss Technique

With obesity slowly turning as a major problem in different countries, it is already no big news for us to hear desperate people who want to lose weight. There are many diet techniques promoted at present but the sad truth is that only few of them can actually work. There are also a lot of misconceptions when it comes to the issue of weight loss. For example, people think that tiring themselves to death can help them lose their extra pounds overnight. Others, on the other hand, have the belief that using the fasting weight loss technique is the answer to their problem. These are all fallacies however, because they can actually cause more harm instead of helping out an individual.


The truth is that there is no easy way to gain the perfect sculpted shape in just a very short span of time. To lose weight, a person needs to have discipline and dedication in different aspects. One dieting basic, for example, is reducing the calorie intake. Approximately, a pound of body weight is equivalent to 3500 calories. Thus, losing one pound of fat can already make the body burn 3500 calories. A person can lose weight by eating less and having a calorie deficit. This does not mean using the fasting weight loss technique though. Starving oneself and skipping meals probably just make a person eat more in his next meals so this is an important no-no to remember.


Furthermore, the fasting weight loss technique only weakens the body’s defenses that may only cause health problems to a person. Eating more meals a day with smaller portions can help extinguish the constant hunger and not cause overeating in a person. Stocking up on foods rich in fiber like fruits and cereals can also help because fiber helps faster digestion and removal of body wastes. Drinking water to extinguish the unnecessary hunger can also be helpful.
