Bikini Tops for Flat Chested Girls

Finding the right bikini top for a flat chested body type can seem daunting. With so many styles available, it's hard to know which one will be flattering on a flatter chest. Women with this body type often wish to make their bust appear larger, and/or maximize their cleavage. Before you go shopping, you'll need to know the right shapes, prints, and colors, as well as what to avoid.

Everyone knows that black can be slimming, but dark colors can also appear to minimize an already small chest size. The right print can trick the eye and make you appear to have a larger bust. Go for a lighter color palette, floral patterns, or horizontal stripes to give the illusion of a larger bust, and avoid dark colors and vertical stripes.

Halter and triangle bikini tops can also give the illusion of size, and are flattering on most body types. If you go for a triangle top, the triangle size shouldn't be too small, but shouldn't cover the entire chest either. Remember, it's all about proportion. The area that the triangle covers will appear to cover the entire breast. To create more cleavage, go for a padded push-up bikini top with an under-wire. Styles like this mimic the effect of a push-up bra. Many bikini tops come with pockets inside where you can slip a padded insert and add a cup size to your bust. Avoid bandeau tops, and sports bra shapes that will flatten down the chest. These will have the opposite effect that you are looking for and will make your chest appear much smaller.

Bikini tops with ruffles are a cute and trendy option for small-chested girls. The layers of fabric accumulate to create volume and the illusion of a larger bust. Other styles that have ruching, pleating, petals or layers will give you a similar effect.

Finding the right combination of color and style to fit your body type is key. For example, pear shapes that are smaller on top but have a bigger bottom might want to try a black bikini with a ruffled top to add volume where you need it, but minimize your bottom.

Whichever style you choose, remember that the most flattering look on a woman is confidence. Hiding a flat chest is much easier than hiding discomfort, so always go for a bikini that fits your body type, style, and personality.
