Green tea is deemed as one of the most popular beverages all over the world. Recent findings show that the drink is rich in antioxidant contents that can cause a variety of beneficial effects for one’s body. Like wine, green tea contains polyphenols in the form of catechins that fight aging and variety of complex diseases. One of the most life threatening diseases is cancer and studies have linked green tea habit to fighting some forms of the deadly disease. Furthermore, green tea enables the body to maintain just the right ratio of low density lipoprotein and high density lipoprotein which help in maintaining the integrity of the heart. This in turn prevents the onset of atherosclerosis.  

There are actually tons of beneficial effects green tea can do for our body. Everyday, more and more discoveries are made about these beneficial effects which leads to the increase in the importance of drinking green tea. Although this is the case, there are a few who do not find the taste of green tea appealing. The bitter taste of green tea is attributed to its caffeine content. Moreover, others just do not have the time to enjoy fresh preparations of green tea especially those in the office. Or simply put, coffee is just so much tempting than a cup of bitter green tea.

Thank goodness for the existence of green tea capsules. Green tea has been processed and converted into convenient capsule form so that even those who cannot prepare fresh green tea will still have the chance to feed their body the right amount of green tea. Because encapsulated, people who are not accustomed to the bitter taste of green tea will have an easier time taking it as a medicine. One advantage of taking green tea capsules is knowing the exact amount of dosage taken in the body because depending on the product, a capsule of green tea already contains an equivalent similar to drinking 3 cups of freshly prepared green tea.

But the existence of green tea capsules do not assure a person that it is safe and one should be observant especially in purchasing the supplement. It is best if the purchase is made from reputable brands to be sure that the contents will never elicit any harmful effects. Also, persons taking other medications examples of which are adenosine, beta lactam antibiotic, benzodiazepines, oral contraceptives and phenylpropanolamine should likewise be cautious since studies suggest that taking green tea capsules with these drugs can cause interactions.
