Should you Take Your Kids on a Cruise?
Written by janet
If you have kids under twelve you may be wondering if a holiday on a cruise ship would be suitable for them and if there will be enough to keep them occupied. Many people believe that cruise ships do not cater for children but nothing could be further from the truth. Nowadays most cruise ships have many activities especially for kids under twelve as well as catering for their preferences when it comes to meals. However before you book your cruise check the individual cruise ship you are considering and find out the kids cruise facilities available as they vary a good deal in what they offer.
When you are booking your ticket, consider taking your child with you on the cruise. The trip will be a memorable one for your child and exciting with all the activities on offer and the opportunity to visit new places. Of course, the cruise ship company that comes to mind when you are thinking of taking kids is the Disney Cruise line with a host of activities for kids but many others are suitable to take your child. Carnival and Royal Caribbean are two cruise lines that are especially family oriented.
A popular activity on board ship is swimming and many of the family oriented theme cruise ships have smaller wading pools. There will be lifeguards on duty at all times but you should use your best judgment on whether to leave them unattended, depending on their age and ability as lifeguards cannot always guarantee the safety of your child.
Almost all cruise ships have a movie theater and a stage and many of the family themed ships will have special children's performances. and movies. By checking the itinerary you can find out if the ship you are interested in caters for under twelves in this way. You won't need to have booked a cruise to be able to check the itinerary. All cruise ships have arcade game rooms although you may not want your child to spend too much time in them! Some of the newer ships have fantastic virtual reality centers with virtual roller coasters and auto racing. One of the best is on the Grand Princess Line. They are usually supervised so you can safely leave older kids to play there for a short time.
Most cruise ships also cater for the under twelves in the many dining rooms and cafeterias, with child size portions and selections. Many also offer supervised childcare facilities and babysitting for a small extra fee so that you can enjoy an evening on your own while your child is well looked after. Child care facilities are usually supervised by experienced, well qualified staff and may cater for babies and small children as well as the older ones. Again, check with the individual cruise ship for facilities available.
Other activities for kids include supervised board games such as monopoly, basketball and other sports and story times and slumber parties. All of the above facilities vary between cruise ship companies and many of the themed cruise ships specially cater for children. You can find out all the information you need by contacting the company you are interested in. Taking your kid on a cruise is not the problem many people perceive it to be and your child will find it interesting and exciting and will certainly not be bored!

Enjoying The Disney Cruise Ship
Written by StephenNothing makes a vacation more special then celebrating it with everyone’s all-time favorite character, Mickey Mouse. While every year millions flock to the Disney theme parks located all around the globe, there is another option which is all too often overlooked. While many people know that there is a Disney cruise ship, not too many actually choose to take the magical cruise.
On this cruise there is no end to the amazing magical experiences available for young and old alike. You can dine with your favorite characters, enjoy themed activities, sail the tropical waters, and make memories that will last forever™.
This is why choosing to take a ride on the Disney cruise ship is so special. The ship is never over-crowded and you get more one on one time with Mickey and the gang. Not to mention the fact that there is golfing, tennis, swimming pools and much more. Just like any cruise ship, choosing to take a Disney cruise is a way to relax and enjoy your vacation. However, unlike those other cruises, this is not meant for just the adults, but rather the entire family.
Unforgettable Disney Cruise Or Another Family Camping Disaster... Vacation?
You could take a camping trip or enjoy a hotel as a family, however who wants to sit around all day swarmed by bees, or pay the premium fees that hotels are charging these days? Why would you do that when you could be sailing on the high seas!
Why not spend your family vacation on the wide open sea where you and Mickey Mouse, Ariel, Sebastian the Crab, and all the other gang can have some real fun in the sun. There is always something to keep you busy on the ship so you will not have to worry about being bored. However, if you and your spouse want to get away for an evening alone, you can. The ship offers specialized services which take those kids off your hands so you and your spouse can have your own little bit of magic.
Of course you can still go to the theme parks and deal with the very long lines, crowds and many other hassles that go with a theme park vacation, but doesn’t it sound like more fun to take a cruise where you can forgo all of these hassles and still be able to see Mick, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy? Make sure that you plan well in advanced because rooms are limited aboard the Disney cruise ship.
